SQL DBA

Job DescriptionWe're delighted to be working with our Glasgow based client to support them in expanding their Technology team, with the addition of a SQL/Database specialist. This a brand new role for a highly experienced technologist with expert skills across RDBMS technologies and SQL.You will have a lead role in overseeing the database roadmap for our client, take responsibility for licensing, monitoring performance, security and being lead expert for improvements and best practise. Our client is currently using SQL Server however will be re-platforming so is looking for experience across any relation database technology. You'll have team lead responsibility for one person and hep build out a small specialist team over the year.This is a great opportunity to move from a DBA or Senior SQL role into more design and team lead - however we can't lose sight that this is and remains a tech specialist role!We'd love to hear from you if you meet the following criteria:* Extensive experience in database administration* Specific expertise in RDBMS technologies (will consider any)* Extensive knowledge of MySQL, MS SQL etc.* A track record in all aspects of database design, Datamodelling, back up & recovery etc* The ability to work 2 days a week on site in Glasgow
