Solution Architect – Digital Transformation
Are you a delivery-focused Solution Architect who wants to see your work land in the real world?
We’re hiring a mid-to-senior level Solution Architect for a well-established consultancy that partners with some of the UK’s most vital public and commercial service providers. You’ll work on large-scale transformation projects that improve how essential services are delivered to millions — including digital strategies, platform rearchitecture, and complex system integrations.
This is not a PowerPoint architect role. You’ll be hands-on in shaping end-to-end solutions, working with engineering leads, delivery managers, and client stakeholders to make systems more robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
What You'll Be Doing
*
Designing end-to-end solutions for complex programmes — working across architecture, infrastructure, APIs, and integrations
*
Leading or supporting the development of HLDs, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation
*
Working closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed
*
Engaging directly with clients to understand challenges, scope solutions, and explain trade-offs
*
Helping public-facing organisations modernise legacy systems, optimise operations, and adopt modern technologies
*
Supporting bid/proposal efforts with technical input (not hard sales — think estimates, design options, risk mitigation)
Tech Environment
This is a consultancy setting, so there’s variety — but we’re particularly interested in Solution Architects who’ve worked with:
*
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
*
API design & microservices architecture
*
Data architecture or integration experience (bonus)
*
Experience with TOGAF, or similar structured architecture methods
*
Experience producing HLDs and architecture governance artefacts
*
Comfort working alongside engineers, product teams, and delivery leads
Who This Would Suit
*
An established or emerging Solution Architect who’s worked in consulting, tech, or complex in-house environments
*
Someone who enjoys collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
*
A thoughtful communicator who can explain architecture clearly without jargon
*
Someone who’s happy getting involved in delivery, not just writing documents
The Details
*
Location: Hybrid – with offices in London and Belfast. Some flexibility, but you must be able to attend on-site sessions when needed
*
Salary: £67k–£95k base depending on experience plus bonus
*
Security Clearance: You must be eligible for SC clearance (i.e. UK-based for 5+ years with no gaps) and must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK in the last 5 years
*
Right to Work: British Citizen, ILR, or other unrestricted work status required
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This is an opportunity to design solutions that actually get built, for organisations that keep the UK moving. You’ll be supported by senior architects and engineers, while having real ownership over your work. If you’re ready to step into meaningful architecture work — without endless documentation or hand-waving — this is worth a conversation
