The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in modern technologies and architectural principles, with a proven ability to design secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. This role requires a broad understanding of enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and software delivery practices, ideally within the payments or financial services domain.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Strong, broad-based understanding of a wide range of technologies relevant to Barclaycard, including emerging technologies such as AWS, Azure, Java, and Adaptive/Responsive Design.
Solid awareness of IT Security principles, patterns, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience in designing secure, scalable, highly available, resilient, and performant solutions.
In-depth knowledge of software delivery and deployment patterns, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, with a strong grasp of Enterprise Container Platforms (e.g., Docker).
Familiarity with various integration mechanisms, such as RESTful Web Services and ETL.
Awareness of data architecture best practices and modern data solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Data-Driven Design).
