Parenting Assessment Social Worker - Aylesbury

Location: Aylesbury, UK
Salary: £42,512 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Onsite (5 days/week; occasional WFH for report writing)

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Parenting Assessment Qualified Social Worker to join an established, Ofsted-rated service. This is a specialist two-person team, the only one of its kind within the local authority, delivering high-quality parenting assessments in complex cases involving long-term care planning, court work, and early intervention.

What You'll Do:

  • Undertake specialist parenting assessments for court proceedings and statutory planning
  • Work collaboratively with the co-located Qualified Social Worker in a high-impact unit
  • Contribute to early intervention and prevention strategies, with a focus on exploitation risk and safeguarding
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to court and planning panels
  • Liaise with multi-agency teams to ensure child-centred and evidence-based care planning
  • Monitor and evaluate parenting capacity and outcomes using established assessment frameworks

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Minimum of 2-3 years post-qualified experience, including:
    • Parenting assessments
    • Court work (Section 7/37, viability assessments, etc.)
    • Long-term care planning (LTCP)
    • Experience in Early Intervention (EI) and child exploitation (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly around legal documentation
  • Ability to work independently within a small, highly focused team
  • Flexibility to attend the centre onsite five days a week, with occasional WFH while writing assessments
  • High level of organisation, resilience, and a passion for delivering excellent outcomes for children
