Job Title: Lead Site Manager – £2M Healthcare Refurbishment
Location: Reading, UK
Day Rate: £275 - £300
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a fast-paced £2M healthcare refurbishment project in Reading. This is a critical, live-environment project requiring a hands-on manager with a sharp eye for detail, strong leadership, and a solid background in healthcare or similarly complex refurbishments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day site operations and manage all site activities
* Liaise with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with programme, quality, health & safety, and budget
* Coordinate logistics and manage site resources effectively
* Maintain regular communication with the client and ensure minimal disruption to ongoing healthcare services
* Report progress and issues to the visiting contracts manager.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment projects (ideally in healthcare or similar live environments)
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, H&S regulations, and CDM requirements
* SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid certifications
* Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Ability to manage programmes, trades, and client expectations under pressure
* Experience working with main contractors on projects as a number 1 in the £1m–£5m range
