Site Engineer

RTL Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a freelance basis, starting Tuesday 6th May 2025. This role offers the opportunity to work on a well-run project with a strong site team.

Responsibilities:

Setting out detailed works in line with contract drawings and conducting regular checks

*

Verifying accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities

*

Ensuring quality control standards are met and recorded in accordance with client specifications

*

Providing engineering support to overcome technical challenges

*

Carrying out pre-start site surveys

*

Supporting timely handover of works and quality records with no outstanding defects

*

Promoting and maintaining a high standard of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance

*

Conducting site calibration checks

*

Assisting in resolving unexpected technical issues

Requirements:

*

Proven experience on civil engineering projects, particularly in a setting-out role

*

Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, and relevant regulations

*

Valid CSCS card

*

Flexibility to travel nationwide as required

*

Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with site teams and clients

*

Able to work effectively within a team

*

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
