An established integrated services contractor is seeking an experienced
Site Manager / Agent to join their team on a highways term maintenance contract covering
Southampton and the surrounding region.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in the delivery of various improvement and maintenance schemes, including resurfacing, street lighting, road markings, accessibility upgrades, and enhancements to public transport infrastructure.
Scope of Works Includes:- Roadworks and resurfacing schemes
- Signing and lining projects
- Urban realm improvements
- Footway and cycleway installations
- Structures capital maintenance
- Accessibility and safety upgrades
Key Responsibilities:- Lead project execution with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control
- Manage and motivate on-site teams and subcontractors
- Oversee allocation of plant, labour, and materials
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and statutory regulations
- Monitor and report on project progress, resolving any delivery challenges
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction
Requirements:- Strong background in highways or civil engineering projects, ideally in a term maintenance setting
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Knowledge of surfacing, streetworks, and maintenance methods
- ONC, HNC, or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- SMSTS, CSCS card, and Site Safety Management certification (highly desirable)
- Flexible to meet business needs, including occasional evening or weekend work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
