JOB TITLE: Shuttering Carpenter
INDUSTRY: Building and Construction
START DATE: ASAP
SALARY : £22.00 - £25.00
LOCATION: Taunton
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
Measure, cut, and assemble formwork materials (timber, plywood, or metal).
Install and secure formwork according to specifications.
Pour, level, and finish concrete within the shuttering moulds.
Strip formwork after the concrete has set and clean/prepare for reuse.
Ensure formwork structures are strong, stable, and aligned properly.
Work closely with other construction professionals, including steel fixers and concrete workers.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a shuttering carpenter or similar role in construction.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Skilled in using hand and power tools related to carpentry.
Good physical strength and stamina.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices on construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Carpentry or Construction (optional but advantageous).
Previous work experience on large-scale construction projects.
