A leading housebuilder is looking to strengthen its Design and Technical team with an experienced Design & Technical Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality residential developments from planning to handover.
About the Role
The Design and Technical function is central to the delivery of every development, ensuring innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable design solutions. This team is involved from the early planning stages through to construction, working on a wide range of sites including those with heritage buildings, complex constraints, and unique planning conditions.
As Design & Technical Coordinator, you will report to the Technical Manager and act as a vital link between consultants, internal departments, and the construction team—ensuring all technical information is delivered accurately and on time.
Responsibilities

Brief, manage, and coordinate external consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective production of technical information.

Prepare technical specifications aligned with land acquisition budgets and internal requirements.

Monitor and maintain design programmes, presenting updates during key project meetings.

Manage all statutory applications, including sewer connections, crossovers, and legal agreements.

Oversee submissions and approvals for NHBC and Building Regulations.
*
Ensure compliance with planning approvals and discharge of conditions.
*
Work closely with Commercial teams to manage production information in line with budget constraints.
*
Track and update the Professional Fees budget on a monthly basis.
*
Review and approve Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans, and Sales Area drawings.
*
Participate in project meetings and carry out on-site inspections as needed.
*
Support subcontractor coordination, respond to site queries, and resolve design and technical challenges.
*
Issue construction drawings and updates in line with programme timelines.
About You
This role would suit someone from an architectural or engineering background with a strong understanding of residential design, planning regulations, and technical coordination. You’ll be a strong communicator, confident in managing external consultants, and proactive in problem solving.
