Senior Technical Accountant

I am working with a Local Council who are hiring a Senior Technical Accountant to join their team.

Contract: 3 Months

Hybrid / Flexible Working

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading the closure of the Councils accounts and the preparation of the Statement of Accounts.


• Ensuring that Statements are prepared in-line with Audit Regulations and relevant codes of practice.


• Manage the external Audit process, ensuring all queries are answered.


• Lead the management of Treasury management activity - such as investments or borrowing and the treasury strategy.


• Responsible for monitoring all new legislation and accounting standards, analysing on its impact where necessary�


• Support in the management of the finance team�


• Assist the Lead Finance Specialist to ensure that Section 151 responsibilities are discharged to ensure the proper and effective financial additional is maintained throughout the Council.

Your Experience:

• Experience within a Local Council / Government environment


• Experience in dealing with year end budgets�


• Expert knowledge in Finance/Accounting Practices within local government�

The ideal candidate will ideally be Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with the above experience�

Salary: �450 - �600 per day (Inside IF35)
