Are you a technically strong Risk Engineer with proven experience in project controls and leadership? We're seeking a highly skilled professional with in-depth knowledge of risk management tools and processes to support a high-profile engineering programme.
Lead Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional - Risk
Contract - 6 Months
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (2 days onsite fortnightly)
Rate: £63.40/hour (Umbrella) or £47/hour (PAYE)
Clearance: UK Eyes Only - Must be eligible for BPSS and SC clearance
Key Responsibilities:
Lead risk-based PM&C activities on a work package or small-scale project.
Manage and coach a small team (up to 5 staff), driving performance and delivery.
Analyse and assess project risks using ARM (Active Risk Manager) software.
Apply both predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (agile) PM&C methodologies.
Produce and interpret detailed project reports and schedules.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery against time, cost, and quality targets.
Advise stakeholders using data-led insights to support decision-making.
Promote the development and application of best practice in project risk management.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience with ARM (Active Risk Manager) software.
Strong background in technical risk analysis and mitigation.
Previous experience in infrastructure or construction environments.
Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior staff.
High-level proficiency in project reporting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
Sound knowledge of PM&C governance frameworks (e.g. IBRs, LCM).
Degree qualified (or equivalent experience), with a professional PM qualification (e.g. APM PMQ).
Desirable:
Experience working within highly regulated industries (e.g. defence, nuclear).
Strong analytical skills and business acumen beyond immediate team scope.
