Senior Quantity Surveyor

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for an established civil engineering business on a freelance basis.

You will be working with an existing team and be required to support with procurement and change management.

Responsibilities and requirements:

Contract awareness of NEC 4 contracts and subcontracts.
Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with our customer, design consultant and our subcontractors.
Measure, price, negotiate and agree costs for Compensation Events to the project scope
Measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for internal review and forecasting.
Check project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessary
Attend sub-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
Produce and maintain up to date procurement schedules.
Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders.
Compile subcontract orders for approval.
Regular visits to site to measure and value the works completed.
Assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments, issuing prompt payment notifications.
Carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of each subcontractors performance.
Work closely with the contract and site management team to support the smooth running of the office and the site in general, carrying out other adhoc duties as required from time to time.
Assist in the guidance and development of the project Quantity Surveyor.
Other commercial matters as may be required.

You will ideally have a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and at least 10 years post graduate experience within the civil engineering sector.
