The Senior Operations Manager will manage the Support Services Team including the Mobile Support Team (MST) and direct reports of QA Manager and Performance and Contract Support Manager for the Elizabeth Line, to drive operational excellence across all managed stations. The role will be responsible for managing additional fabric and appearance improvement tasks in complex and high-traffic environments to help improve MSS (Mystery Shopper Survey) scores, ensuring that all activities comply with railway safety regulations and standards. A key part of this role is driving performance, ensuring safe practices, and improving the overall environment for passengers and staff.

Operational Leadership

• Lead the Support Services Team to deliver high-quality support services across Elizabeth Line stations, particularly in areas that are hard to access or below standard.

Skills & Knowledge

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience in facilities or station operations management, ideally within a rail or transport environment.

• Strong understanding of railway safety regulations and operational compliance.

• Proven leadership of multi-skilled teams in dynamic, high-footfall environments.

• Demonstrable experience in performance management, data reporting, and service innovation.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Practical knowledge in one or more trade areas: carpentry, glazing, painting, or maintenance.

• Experience working on or near rail infrastructure (trackside awareness certification is desirable).

• PTS (Personal Track Safety) Certification or equivalent

• IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification

• Facilities or Maintenance Management qualifications
