Role: Senior Network Engineer (Connectivity) Location: Hybrid role, (on-site 2 days per week in Oxfordshire, Bucks. or Berkshire)Salary:
43K + 5% on-call payment (+ 17.5% employers contribution pension and an excellent range of Employee Benefits and Discount schemes)Key Skills: Cisco networking, strong network connectivity troubleshooting, network transformation projects, managing network suppliers etc. Our customer is a technology led, high-profile Public-Sector organisation who continue to grow due to significant transformation of their IT services and ongoing promotion of individuals across the various technical support teams. TThis is a busy Senior Network Engineer role when you will be at the heart of often complex networking connectivity issues. If you enjoy a fast-paced role and thrive on sharing your knowledge to resolve issues and implement better networking practices, then this role is for you!.Role duties include:Network Troubleshooting (BAU) and Network Projects focussed around supporting and improving the wider network estate across different infrastructure platforms and delivery mechanisms, (including cloud, IaaS and hybrid environments).Travelling to regional sites as required for network specific strategy meetings and also when required to meet with vendors / suppliers providing connectivity services. Provisioning deployment, configuration and administration of network, hardware and software.About you:5+ years' experience working in network engineering with CCNP certification and recent experience at a Senior Network Engineer level where you are Subject Matter Expert level in Cisco.Strong network troubleshooting skills to diagnose and rectify network connectivity issues.Able to interpret, and challenge network designs.Experience gained working directly for a MSP (Managed Service Provider) and / or NOC (Network Operations Centre), preferred.Strong stakeholder engagement skills / experienceStrong documentation skillsClean and current, full UK driving license and able to work in a hybrid role with 2/3 days per week travel to sites in the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire counties.Strong communication skills and ideally experience of working closely with connectivity vendors / suppliers for items such as power connections, WiFi, comms rooms, Cisco switches etc.You will need to possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and be a great problem solver! You will need to have lived and worked in the UK for at least 5 years in order to meet the security vetting requirements for this role
