London, City of London, GB, EC2R 8HP RWE Offshore Wind GmbHTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentRWE Offshore Wind is seeking a Senior Financial Manager to join the Projects & Investments UK&I and Southern Europe team (P&I UK&SE) to support our large scale Offshore Wind Farms. The role is a key and challenging project role; responsible for coordination and steering of all financial and financial related workstreams of a project. It is about projects from early development through auction bid, FID to commissioning and handover to operational phase.With an international team spanning across Europe, USA and Asia, this position offers an opportunity to a self-motivated and highly responsible individual to be part of a growing team and business that has substantial growth potential in offshore wind for the UK region. Hybrid working is at the heart on how we operate although traveling is also required.Your future plansSupporting the wider Financial team in the projectCoordination of respective Finance and Finance related workstreams (functional responsibility sits within the responsible line functions), in particular:Responsibility for the business case process (planning & coordination of business case updates, required level of detail of the business case)Ownership of the assumption book and cost bookAligning financial model works and results with those works of the owners (RWER and partners) incl. steering of financial advisorsManagement and coordination of project’s risk & opportunity register in close collaboration with package managers, the risk manager and financial adviser including preparation of appropriate contingency analysis and insurance coordination aspectsResponsibility for all cost management systems (incl. contract management, change control) within the projectCoordination of accounting and tax workstreamsOwnership of the budgeting process and project cost controls (incl. cash calls to investors) and respective reporting processesCooperation with legal, procurement and commercial functionsCoordination of efforts taking care of developing bankable project structures incl. construction and operational contractsAbility to derive and challenge credible financial assumptions by benchmarking against other RWE Offshore Wind projects and industry wide practicesIdentification (and support where necessary) of areas whereby the project economic return could be optimized; perform all necessary analysis into the areas and present results and the recommendation for consideration and approvalContinuous financial review and monitoring of the project economics and the reporting of results as required both within the project team (project director) and to the project steering committee, e.g. analyzing the implications of changes to MW capacity and size and timing of project phasingRepresents project from a finance perspective at steering committees and board meetingsEnsure all financial/commercial considerations regarding grid connections are consideredSupport of preparation of bid group papers/proposals including support of development of bid tactics in cooperation with the project director as well as the Commercial bid managerPreparation of project approval papersSetting up a project specific governance in cooperation with the project director and ensure that these are aligned where required with the project owners - particularly with RWER, if in the lead roleEnsure (financial) best practice is delivered in the projects and lessons learned are shared with the Financial and Valuation Management teamEnsure lessons learned are collected, provided and applied to the project and packagesYour profileAt least 4-6 years’ experience in managing large scale projects, preferably in offshore, or power plant projectsBroad finance background (in particular valuation, project financing, controlling, procurement)Accounting experience beneficialUniversity degree in business administration, (business) engineering, banking or economicsStrength in applying a structured working approachHigh analytical and communicational skillsExperience in leading and motivating teamsKnows how to work in and with international groupsCapable to present in front of groups (team, steering committees etc)Fluent English, other languages (esp.
