Senior Engineer/Design Manager

The Senior Engineer, who plays a key role in overseeing civil engineering projects with an annual turnover of £10 million. This individual is responsible for the technical management and execution of the project while leading a team of 2 to 4 section engineers, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

1   Safety, Health, Environment & Sustainability

Prepare, check / approve method statements and risk assessments ensuring that appropriate priority is given to the public and that third party approvals are obtained where necessary.
Assist with the preparation of project environmental procedures and ensure that systems are implemented to satisfy contractual and statutory requirements, liaising with third parties, such as the Environmental Agency,2   Dimensional/Spatial Control

Reviews how achievable, suitable and compatible the specified tolerances are & gets amended as required
Reviews & changes proposed construction methods to ensure compliance with specified or stated tolerances
Determines and implements the most appropriate methods for primary & secondary control on the project
Supervises, provides training and ensures competence of those carrying out dimensional control tasks
Provides advice and assistance in resolution of survey and dimensional control issues3   Workmanship, Quality, Inspection & Testing
