Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
Clearance: SC Cleared or Eligible
Day Rate: £475–£525/day inside IR35

About the Role:
We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a fast-paced public sector digital transformation programme. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact cloud-native services hosted in AWS, supporting millions of users across the UK.
You'll join a multidisciplinary agile team, contributing to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability. The role demands strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of cloud and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS
Implement IaC using Terraform and Ansible
Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
Deploy and manage containers using Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
Configure logging and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues
Implement AWS best practices in serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS)
Optimize system performance and automate repetitive tasks
Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams in an Agile environment
Essential Skills & Experience:
Active SC Clearance or eligibility (5+ years UK residency)
Strong hands-on AWS cloud experience
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
Containers & orchestration: Docker, ECS, Kubernetes
CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
Monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
Serverless architecture knowledge: AWS Lambda, API Gateway
Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancers, VPCs, SSL/TLS)
Desirable:
Agile/Scrum experience
Comfortable in hybrid teams (remote + on-site collaboration)
Strong communication and documentation skills
