Regions: Hertfordshire, LondonI have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Co-ordinator to join on of the South East’s leading Main Contractors on a permanent basis, initially working on large new build, £40m RC frame apartment scheme in London.The company have been operating for over 40 years and have earned a great reputation in the industry for delivering quality housing projects across the South East. They carry out new build, refurbishment and regeneration schemes; they are community focused and believe in building safely and delivering environmentally sustainable buildings for their clients.They are looking for a Senior Design Co-ordinator to be the design lead on a new build, £40m RC frame apartment scheme in London. The project comprises circa 140 units across 4 x apartment blocks ranging from 6 to 15 storeys, including 2 floors of commercial space. The role will be split between the Head Offices in Hertfordshire and on site in Central London.Responsibilities: Lead the design process and collation of design informationManage and coordinate consultant and subcontractor designs, chair design meetings and workshops and report progress to line managers as requiredProvide and coordinate all areas of detailed design information for the construction and commercial teams, enabling projects to be completed within programme, budget and specification requirementsCheck and ensure that the design complies with the Employer’s Requirements and all requisite bodies or obtain the approval of the Client to any variances that may ariseManage the process of statutory and technical approvals from local authorities, statutory providers, warranty providers and the likeNegotiate fees and appoint all Design Consultants scheduling the information they are to provide, the programme within which their design is to be achieved and obtain the Warranties to be provided under the terms of the contractPromote and maintain good and professional relations with the Client, Consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers and statutory authoritiesSupport Technical Managers in their role and manage junior staff membersActively research and advise upon alternative construction processesExperience: Track record working for a reputable Main Contractor on new build residential projectsRC frame apartment experience (over £20m projects)Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and be confident chairing meetings and leading the design processKnowledge of BIM processes and software / experience delivering a project through the use of BIM is idealStrong leadership skills, able to manage and influence stakeholders both internally and externallyExperience using AutoCAD (essential), ASTA PowerProject (desirable) and using Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, word and excel (essential)A design or construction focused degree or equivalent is desirableIf you are a Senior Design Co-ordinator with the right experience and you are interested in this role, please apply with an updated CV or call Rob on: 07733 529 573
