Senior Bridge Inspector

This position offers a chance to work directly within the client's office, supporting the client's officers and collaborating on shared delivery objectives.
You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the diverse structures within the county. Supported by additional structures colleagues, you will help deliver high-quality services. With an exciting increase in funding for the 2025/26 financial year, the structures programme aims to protect and enhance the county's varied bridge stock, which includes everything from viaducts to small masonry arches.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessing the condition of the client's structural assets
Identifying and prioritising maintenance and repair works
Delivering over 500 General and around 100 Principal Inspections annually
Undertaking Special Inspections and surveying accident damages as required
Working within a professional team to deliver quality services and meet set objectives

Job Requirements:

A mature and self-aware approach to achieving high standards and safe working practices
A passion and aptitude for bridge inspection, with a sound understanding of bridge design principles
Familiarity with bridge inspection processes and Bridge Condition Indicators
A HNC, HND in civil/structural engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience
Confident communication skills, able to convey your viewpoints clearly and keep stakeholders and colleagues well-informed
