We are now recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start in Spring 2025 - a rewarding role where you'll make a lasting impact by supporting students with diverse learning needs in both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with ASD and complex needs.
Help adapt and deliver lesson activities in collaboration with teaching staff.
Maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Promote positive behaviour and student engagement using proven strategies.
Work with SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies to develop and review IEPs.
Support with personal care, ensuring dignity and comfort for all students.
Encourage independence and life skills through daily activities and routines.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience working with children with SEND (especially ASD and complex needs) is a strong advantage, but not essential.
Empathetic, calm, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping young learners.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamworking.
Open to learning, with a proactive mindset and willingness to complete training.
Familiarity with tools like PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based approaches is a bonus.
