GSL Education are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant with experience as a Sports Coach to support pupils in a specialist provision in Tonbridge. This role is ideal for individuals who understand the importance of physical activity in developing confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation in children with additional needs.
About the role:
As an SEN TA with a sports coaching background, you’ll work closely with young learners with a range of needs, including autism, SEMH, and communication difficulties. Your role will involve providing structured support both inside and outside of the classroom, incorporating physical movement and sports-based activities into their daily learning and wellbeing routines.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individual and small groups of pupils using sport-based strategies to improve engagement and behaviour.
Assist the teacher in delivering active and inclusive lesson plans.
Use physical activity to help students develop self-confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.
Help manage behaviour positively, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.
