GSL Education are working with an excellent secondary school in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant. In this vital role, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

You will be working with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, both in and out of the classroom. Your role will involve assisting with learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, and helping pupils manage their emotions so they can engage fully with school life.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Support the delivery of lessons, adapting resources where necessary.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Promote a calm, structured environment to encourage learning.
Help students develop resilience, self-regulation, and coping strategies.
