Vetro Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a values-driven service based in Blaenau Gwent, as they search for a dedicated and experienced Responsible Individual. We're looking for a seasoned professional to help shape the future of their service, allowing the current owner to focus on strategic growth.

  • Responsible Individual - Children's Residential Care
  • Annual Salary: £47,000 - £50,000
  • Hours: 32-40 hours per week (flexible to meet business needs)
  • Days: 4 days per week, with flexibility for 5 if required
  • Location: Blaenau Gwent (essential to live within a reasonable driving distance of the homes)

About the Role:
As our Responsible Individual, you'll be the cornerstone of our commitment to providing safe, effective, and nurturing care. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our services not only meet but exceed regulatory standards, fostering a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a highly experienced and inspirational leader with a proven track record in the residential childcare sector.
Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant Senior Director/Leadership Management Experience: Significant experience within the residential childcare sector is crucial.
  • Existing RI or Operational Director/Manager/Head of Care Experience: You'll have prior experience in a similar senior leadership capacity.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services - CYP Residential Management: This qualification is a must-have.
  • You must live within a reasonable driving distance of our care homes in Blaenau Gwent.

You'll also possess sound knowledge and a background in:

  • Quality Monitoring & Assurance and Quality of Care
  • Performance Management Systems
  • Referral Systems and Databases, including Impact Risk Assessments and the referral process for admitting a new child.
  • Care Home Systems
  • Safeguarding Protocols for CYP (Children & Young People)
  • Coaching and Mentoring in best practice
  • Equality and Diversity
  • The promotion of the Welsh Active Officer
  • Excellent effective communication and people skills
  • Business development and multi-agency third-party working
  • The ability to review and update care home policies
  • Competence in representing a company at a professional business level

Key Responsibilities
As our Responsible Individual, you will:

  • Oversee the management of the service, ensuring it's safe and well-run.
  • Assure compliance with service standards and regulations.
  • Ensure the service has a manager, sufficient resources, and support to provide a safe, effective service that enables service users to achieve their personal goals.
  • Assess, Monitor & Review, and improve the quality of care and support (Regulation 80).
  • Promote a culture of openness & accountability.
  • Maintain a strong focus on individual Well-Being Outcomes.
  • Promote the importance of effective supervision and staff development.
  • Ensure that service users have a voice.
  • Improve Well-Being by monitoring and assessing the impact of services on children's lives.
  • Increase accountability by assuring clear alignment between leadership, culture, and well-being.
