Role Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee compliance with UK and European toy safety regulations, ensuring products meet the highest industry standards. This role involves working closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to uphold quality, safety, and sustainability throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with UK and European Toy Safety directives, including EN71 Toy Testing Standards and EN14619.
*
Provide quality assurance expertise during the product development process, collaborating with designers, product developers, and the sales team.
*
Implement and monitor environmental and sustainability standards, including ISO 14001, GRS, and FSC, aligning with best industry practices.
*
Manage relationships with UK Trading Standards and European regulatory authorities to maintain compliance and address any regulatory concerns.
*
Lead project teams, fostering collaboration to achieve quality and safety goals.
*
Assess customer requirements, ensuring compliance with retailer specifications.
*
Oversee the implementation of new regulatory requirements affecting toy products.
*
Manage and resolve customer comments, complaints, and product claims related to quality or safety.
*
Act as the primary liaison for UK and EU retailer technologists and buying teams.
*
Provide technical and compliance support during meetings with retail buyers and their respective technologists.
Required Skills and Qualifications
*
A technical background in science or engineering.
*
Extensive experience in children’s toy and scooter compliance within European and worldwide markets.
*
Strong knowledge of European and UK Toy Safety directives, including EN71 Toy Testing Standards & EN14619.
*
Familiarity with environmental and sustainability frameworks, including ISO, GRS, and FSC standards.
*
Experience working with Far East manufacturers and an understanding of social accountability frameworks such as ETI, GRS, SEDEX, and BSCI.
*
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
*
A proactive, self-motivated approach, capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
