The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology and/or Sociology Teacher to join a leading independent school in Essex. This full-time role offers the opportunity to teach Psychology and/or Sociology at Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. You will play a key role in developing students’ critical thinking, empathy, and analytical skills—preparing them for higher education and future careers in the social sciences.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons in Psychology and/or Sociology at GCSE level, with scope for A-Level teaching.

Design learning experiences that promote curiosity, independent thought, and a deep understanding of human behaviour and society.

Provide effective assessment and feedback to support academic progress and personal growth.

Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment where all students feel supported and challenged.

Contribute to the development of the social sciences curriculum and relevant enrichment opportunities.

About You:

A degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related social sciences subject.
*
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE + QTS or equivalent).
*
Experience teaching Psychology and/or Sociology at secondary level (including placements).
*
A commitment to student-centred teaching and inclusive education.
*
