CLASSIFICATION/STATUS: Exempt, Full Time, PermanentSupervisory Responsibilities: NonePAY RANGE: MD ($200,000-$245,000/year)WHO YOU ARE:YOUR ROLE & IMPACTThe mission of Charles River Community Health (CRCH)is to partner with individuals and families so they can thrive and lead healthier lives by delivering the comprehensive, integrated, and equitable primary healthcare that matters most to them.The Psychiatrist will play a key role in the delivery of exceptional psychiatric care to CRCH patients. The Psychiatrist will provide both administrative support and direct care to patients, while working collaboratively to ensure continued excellence in performance standards.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate and treat patients, provide psychiatric assessment/care and health education services; assess psychological impact of illness and treat appropriately.Prescribe medications including controlled substances utilizing evidence-based medicine.Provide consultation to nurses to triage patients who call or walk in to the Health Center.Manage and follow-up on patients through Electronic Medical Records.Maintain continuity of care when Health Center patients utilize other health care facilities (i.e., referrals, emergency room services, hospital outpatient departments, specialty clinics and inpatient services).Refer patients for specialty services and provide documentation according to Health Center policies, procedures and follow-up on results.Participate in on-site and off-site continuing education programs and ensure training to maintain licensure.Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans.Provide appropriate health screenings as a baseline prior to psychopharmacology management.Work closely in collaboration with BH and primary care clinicians around referrals generated for medication evaluation, and follow medication management visits.Meet clinical standard of productivity as specified in employment agreement.Other duties as assigned by Director of Behavioral Health or designee.YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, TRAITSMedical Doctor with board certification in psychiatry.Active license to practice psychiatry in Massachusetts.Prior ambulatory experience preferred.Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese preferred.Experience in diverse culture preferred.WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DOCharles River Community Health’s mission is to partner with individuals and families so they can thrive and lead healthier lives by delivering the comprehensive, integrated, and equitable primary healthcare that matters most to them.CRCH is a comprehensive practice providing medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, optical, and vision services to diverse underserved local communities.
