We currently seeking an experienced PSV Engineering Manager based in or around the Essex / East London area. Previous experience must include working with PSV, PCV, Bus, Coach or HGV / Heavy Vehicle.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Planning and managing the vehicle maintenance and repair function in accordance with company policy in such a way to obtain maximum utilisation of the labour and resources available to meet the requirements of the Department of Transport Operators licence.
Responsibility for the leadership, motivation, performance management, learning development and discipline of the local Engineering team, as well as ensuring all Engineering staff commit and comply with the HSQE legislation and policy, as well as COSHH and manual handing standards.
Ensuring the needs of the Operating department are met and that there are sufficient vehicles to meet PVR, as well as ensuring all vehicles provided for operation comply with the standards set by the Company, DVSA and TfL.
Working within allocated budget to guarantee that stores hold adequate material supplies in line with the workshop requirements, as well as pro-actively reviewing and implementing risk assessments and systems of safe practice as required.
What we'll need from you:
Demonstrable previous experience in a senior, supervisory or engineering management remit is essential – preferably within transport with a knowledge of PSV / PCV / Bus / Coach.
Interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite to success in the role, such as: communication, influence, leadership and motivation. In addition to meticulous time management and planning, with the ability to make rational decisions under pressure.
