Due to exceptional growth of our business we are creating new roles to support our consultancy and projects team.At WSP Engineering we are working with an expanding portfolio of blue chip clients and equipment manufacturers to provide them with the expertise they need to deliver capital projects, process improvements and engineering safety compliance.The role of consultant safety engineer will be working in our Consultancy function on internal and external projects. This role will involve working with our projects and technical services teams on engineering safety requirements as well as directly with our clients performing machinery safety and conformity assessments.Ideally you will have been working in the food manufacturing or FMCG industry and we are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of manufacturing sites as well as equipment build and installation. You will have machinery safety knowledge, a recognised safety qualification and have an engineering background.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the delivery of legislative support to internal and external clientsResponsible for specific aspects of the safety design and management throughout the project to ensure requirements of relevant legislation are metResponsible for planning and managing small projects to deliver the client’s requirements on time and within budget as part of personal developmentResponsible for ensuring that all work meets the client’s standards and complies with all relevant legislationResponsible for effective communication with the client and the WSP Engineering teamSupport the WSP Senior team to utilise and develop the WSP Engineering consultancy management methodology with effective review to improve as necessaryResponsible for specific aspects of the design phases of the project to ensure the best solution is identified within the budget availableResponsible for specific aspects of the deployment phases of the project to ensure work is delivered on time and to the right standardsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering / Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience3 -5 years of experience in an engineering safety related role or demonstrable equivalent experienceRecognised qualification in Health & Safety (or working towards)Benefits25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysDiscretionary Bonus SchemeReward and Recognition ProgrammeExcellent Training and Development OpportunitiesCoaching and Mentoring ProgrammeBenefits platform including high street discounts, discounted gym membership and 24 hour medical advice.Annual Team day eventsMatched Pension SchemeEV salary sacrifice schemeA friendly, welcoming and supportive teamThis is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and expanding business working with some of the biggest brands in the UK FMCG sector.The role will be based at client sites across the UK so applicants must be willing to travel.
