An exciting opportunity has arisen for a meticulous and driven Project Estimating Engineer to join a highly respected engineering services provider, specialising in fabrication and piping projects across varied industrial sectors. This site-based role offers the chance to play a vital part in project delivery, working directly with client specifications and contributing to major tender and quotation processes.

The Role
Working within the Site Services division and reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate project estimates for small to large-scale fabrication and piping scopes in response to customer enquiries, ITTs, and RFQs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong grasp of engineering principles and a passion for precision.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare cost estimates, tenders, and supporting documentation in line with client requirements and internal processes.

* Interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) with a high degree of accuracy.

* Liaise with customers to clarify technical requirements and provide progress updates.

* Contribute to documentation, certification, and reporting for workshop-based projects.

* Maintain robust win/loss reporting and assist with project delivery analysis.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant HSEQ standards and site rules.

* Support the team with general workshop and estimation tasks as required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

* Minimum SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade discipline.

* At least 5 years’ estimating experience within a fabrication or piping engineering environment.

* Strong understanding of industry standards including BS EN 1090, ISO 3834, and PED (UKCA/CE).

* Basic working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer literacy.

* Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, often under tight deadlines.

* Confident communicating at all levels, both written and verbal.

* Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required.

* A full clean driving licence is preferred.
