Production Team Leader – Nights

Salary - £30,000 DOE
Hours - 3 on / 3 off | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Permanent Role
 
A leading logistics and production company based in Coventry is seeking a hands-on, motivated Production Team Leader to join their night shift team on a permanent basis. Working a 3 on / 3 off rotation, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Senior Operative looking to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
The Production Team Leader will be responsible for supporting the Shift Supervisor in the day-to-day running of the operation. You’ll lead a team of up to 24 staff (including agency workers), ensuring production targets, health & safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently met on shift.
Duties

• Oversee machine performance and daily production output
• Lead and motivate operatives to meet site KPIs and quality standards
• Support staff development through training, mentoring, and communication
• Monitor downtime, complete pre-start machine checks and hygiene protocols
• Liaise with the maintenance team to address breakdowns or performance issues
• Enforce health and safety compliance across the site
• Act as cover for the Shift Supervisor when needed, including supplier/customer liaison
• Ensure proper use and storage of PPE, COSHH materials, and quality documentation

• Previous experience in a warehouse or production leadership role is essential
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Ability to lead from the front with a proactive, can-do approach
• Confident using basic IT systems (Excel, Word, Teams)
• Health & safety awareness (IOSH or HACCP desirable but not essential)
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts on a rotating 3 on / 3 off basis
