Production Programmer – Permanent Role
Location: Bolton
Salary: £29,000 - £33,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours, Monday to Thursday
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Programmer to join their Production Engineering team in Bolton. The role involves CAD/CAM programming of pressed and laser-cut parts, supporting manufacturing by ensuring accurate data is processed through MRP systems and programming for press brake and laser cutting machines.
Production Programmer Key Responsibilities
* Convert 2D/3D CAD files (STP to DXF) for use in manufacturing
* Carry out remote programming for press brake and laser cutting machines
* Upload accurate and relevant data into the MRP system in accordance with project schedules
* Support process optimisation and continuous improvement for manufacturing and safety
* Contribute to design for manufacture reviews to ensure efficient and accurate part production
* Identify and initiate procurement of necessary tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment
* Support capital expenditure justifications for programming-related improvements
* Meet project deadlines for programming deliverables
* Perform additional tasks as required within the scope of the role
Production Programmer Essential Requirements
* Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably Inventor)
* Experience operating press brake machinery
* Good understanding of metal fabrication and parts manufacturing processes
* Proficient with computers and general IT systems
* Effective communication and problem-solving skills
* Team-oriented and capable of working collaboratively
Production Programmer Desirable Requirements
* Engineering or manufacturing qualifications (e.g. Apprenticeship, HNC, HND)
* Experience using CADMAN-B and Progress Plus MRP software
* Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality management systems
