Production Manager – Transform & Modernise a Brilliant Business

Are you an experienced production leader who thrives on improving manufacturing environments? Or an ambitious 'up-and-comer' ready to take full ownership and potentially lead a business in the future?

This is a rare opportunity to join a hugely successful engineering manufacturer - profitable, cash-rich, with a strong customer base - at a pivotal moment in its growth.

The Challenge:

To take the reins of daily operations. To modernise the factory, raise standards, and drive a cultural shift across the production department - implementing sustainable systems, streamlining production, introducing digital tools, and inspiring people to embrace change.

You’ll be the catalyst for operational excellence in a business with massive potential but a need for hands-on leadership, planning discipline, and process clarity.

Strong, Clear Leadership Is Key:

You must be a confident and capable leader of people - someone who can win hearts and minds, but who isn’t afraid of having the tough conversations when needed.

This role requires:

*

Driving positive change through coaching, support, and structure

*

Tackling ingrained habits

*

Creating a culture where high standards are expected - and met

You’ll lead by example, set the tone, and build a workforce that’s ready to embrace a better way of working.

Why This Role Matters:

Despite strong sales, loyal customers, and a healthy balance sheet, the MD is being pulled in too many directions. The day-to-day operations need someone who will:

*

Challenge the status quo and raise standards

*

Fix planning inefficiencies and improve factory flow

*

Embed structure, accountability, and modern systems

*

Lay the groundwork for digital transformation and sustainability

From improving energy usage and reducing waste, to creating better KPI visibility through data and tech, you’ll be hands-on in transforming the operation.

This is your chance to take ownership of a thriving operation and make lasting improvements - whether you’re looking to transform and move on, or build a long-term future here with potential to one day lead the business or group.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re open-minded on background, but here’s what success looks like:

*

A natural leader with strong people management skills

*

Confident and credible when driving change

*

Able to inspire teams and handle difficult conversations

*

Experience in a high-volume engineering manufacturing environment (not FMCG)

*

Proven ability to improve planning, efficiency, and factory culture

*

A strategic thinker with a passion for systems, process, and performance

Details:

*

Pay: Expected to be IRO £50,000–£80,000 DOE

*

Holiday: 25 days + BH

*

Benefits: Negotiable based on individual needs
