Major Talent is partnered with a global player within the flavours and fragrance industry who have facilities throughout North America, Asia, and the UK. We are looking to speak with candidates for an open Production and Materials Planner position.
As a Production and Materials Planner, you will be the key point of contact between production and supply chain to ensure that production schedule, material stock and inventory are effectively managed. To coordinate all stages of the planning process, assisting with data management and communication of information to both internal and external stakeholders regarding production plan and deliveries
This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday Flexi working 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm
Responsibilities as a Production and Materials Planner
- Process production Work Orders via MRP
- Schedule production works orders, print, check packaging and inspection requirements are present before issue to shop floor
- Order raw materials and consumables for production requirements.
- Contract Review customer orders against delivery schedules
- Enter all stock as completed from production
- Liaison with internal stakeholders on production status between departments
- Liaise with Customer Service and Despatch to ensure orders meet OTIF
- Stock taking of materials and finished goods
- Lean Projects/Continuous Improvements
- Research new solutions for production to improve information flow and efficiency
- Improve data flow systems where possible within the company
- Ensure all forecasts are maintained, up-to-date and issued to relevant members of the management team
- Update the plan with any changes and circulate/communicate changes to all relevant people
- Plan production in an efficient manner and liaise with the Supply Chain manager
- Provide timing and measurements information as required
- Any other duties as required
Skills required to be a Production and Materials Planner
- Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline i.e. Business, Operations, Supply Chain would be advantageous.
- APICS certification is desirable
- Production planning experience in Chemicals or Pharmaceuticals
- Experience of processing work orders
- Logical thinker with excellent numerical, problem-solving solving and analytical skills
- Experience of MRP systems is desirable, preferably Oracle
- Good general computer skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office, inc Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict timescales.
