Role: - Principal Fuel Cell Test Engineer
Location: -Bristol- with hybrid working (3 days on site)

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Fuel Test Engineer to join a Global company who are going through some significant growth within their expanding team in Bristol.
You will be part of a team of 18 employees and conduct extensive testing, validation and failure analysis testing within several industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, energy storage, medical devices & wearables.
Responsibilities • Lead the development and execution of test protocols for hydrogen fuel cell systems.
• Support multiple projects, being accountable for accurate and timely release of the results to the customers.
• Conduct on-site testing of customer provided products based on standards or specifications.
• Understand designs and schematics.
• Validate project scope, prepare the equipment test setup and deliver the customer results, providing on-going technical support to clients throughout the projects.
• Lead performance, durability and failure mode testing of Proton Exchange Membranes and other fuel cell types.
• Interpret test data to provide technical analysis and drive product improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership in best practice for new technologies and new test setups.
• Stay current with market trends in hydrogen fuel cell technology and testing methodologies.
• Provide input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers.
The Person• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Scientific or Engineering discipline- Mechanical, electrical or electrochemical subject would be a preference.
• Previous working knowledge of safety testing with hydrogen, compressed gas or fuel stack cells.
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety (essential)
• Understanding of QMS (essential)
• Able to work independently in a fast- paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to apply academic knowledge in relation to fuel cell testing.
• Ability to problem solve and draw valid conclusions.
• Be able to interpret mathematical diagrams.
• Knowledge of customer life cycle.
• Experience of HV or compressed gas training (desirable)
• Experience of fuel cell stack and system design, testing and reporting.
• Excellent IT skills.
