Pre-Construction Manager – MEP Contractor (North West)

Are you a detail-driven Pre-Construction with an MEP background? Or a Project Manager who enjoys the pre-construction part of the build process & would like to do that full-time?

Our client, one of the UK's leading contractors within the renewable energy sector, is looking for 2 x Pre-Construction Managers to join their team. With a significant multi-million pound turnover and a huge amount of projects secured and in the pipeline, work is assured for years to come.

What You’ll Be Doing:

* Strategic Pre-Con Leadership – Oversee the pre-construction phase, ensuring feasibility, risk management, and commercial viability.

* Tender & Bid Management – Work closely with estimators, project teams, and clients to develop winning bids.

* Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships, translating technical jargon into clear, winning proposals.

* Technical Expertise – Ensure designs, costings, and value engineering are all aligned for successful project delivery.

* Programme Development – Create, review, and refine pre-construction schedules to ensure smooth project handovers.

* Risk & Compliance – Identify potential project risks and ensure all pre-con activities align with industry regulations and best practices.

* Collaboration with Operations – Work closely with project managers, design teams, and commercial teams to ensure seamless transitions from pre-con to delivery.

* MEP Specialist Input – Apply your electrical/mechanical expertise to shape successful project outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

* Proven experience as a Pre-Construction Manager or a Project Manager who has overseen 'cradle to grave' installation projects.

* Strong background in MEP contracting with a mechanical or electrical bias and some knowledge of the opposing discipline.

* Understanding of commercial aspects, bid management, and value engineering.

* Ability to manage multiple pre-con projects, working to deadlines and budgets.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Experience working on projects in the Built Environment (commercial, residential, healthcare, renewables etc.).

Why Join?

* Work for a leading MEP contractor delivering high-profile projects.

* Be at the forefront of shaping project success before a single pipe or cable is installed.

* Competitive salary, benefits, and the chance to make a real impact in the industry.

* The opportunity to work on interesting projects at the cutting edge of 'green' engineering

* Flexible working patterns
