Power BI Developer – Data Transformation Project
Location: Hybrid – Nottinghamshire
Contract: Initial 6 months 
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are working with a leading retail and distribution business undertaking a significant data transformation project. They are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to play a key role in developing a modern reporting and analytics environment.

This is a greenfield opportunity to move the business away from Excel-based reporting towards a more powerful, scalable BI solution using Power BI and ETL processes. The role will involve end-to-end delivery of dashboards and data models that will improve visibility across core business functions, including sales, operations, and inventory.

Responsibilities:

Engage with stakeholders to gather reporting and data visualisation requirements

Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports from the ground up

Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to consolidate data from legacy sources

Lead the transition from Excel to a dynamic BI platform

Create robust data models and implement DAX measures for advanced insights

Support and mentor internal users to ensure long-term capability within the team

Skills and Experience:

Strong commercial experience as a Power BI Developer

Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts

Proficient in Power BI, Power Query, and DAX

Comfortable working closely with teams across finance, sales, operations, and logistics

Demonstrable experience moving organisations from Excel to modern BI tools

Industry experience in retail, distribution, or wholesale is advantageous but not essential
