We’re enabling a zero br carbon, lower cost energy future for all, and working hard to decarbonise the br planet for generations to come. strong br br About the role: br br /strong As part of the Trading and Optimisation, br Commercial Team, the Portfolio Optimiser will: br br - Working with Trading, Logistics, Fuel Procurement and Operations to optimise the running of our generation assets. br - Produce generation forecasts for the portfolio to be distributed cross functionally. br - Work br closely with teams across Group (Finance, Operations, Biomass and br Logistics etc.) to ensure we are using all of the key information we have br to price our units accordingly to optimise generation br - Actively br engage in the development of trading strategies, providing views to help br drive trading tactics br - Identify and implement br improvements to models and process efficiency br - Provide analytical support to br the team and wider department as required. br strong br Who we’re looking for: br br /strong To be successful in this role you’ll br ideally have br - Experience in an analytical/market facing role, preferably within the wholesale power industry. br - Knowledge of the UK and continental power and gas markets br - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong IT skills - Excel and PowerPoint as a minimum. br - Experience developing Power BI reports, Power Extraction and a basic knowledge of coding (VBA , Python ) preferable br - A natural problem solver, results orientated and able to perform to tight deadlines. strong br br Rewards and benefits: br br /strong As you help us to shape the future, br we’ve shaped our rewards and benefits to help you thrive and br support br your lifestyle.
