Exciting Opportunity: KS5 Physics Teacher at an Outstanding School in Redbridge

Our highly successful and Outstanding school in the London borough of Redbridge is seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to specialise in Key Stage 5 Physics. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving Science department and make a real difference to the lives of our A-Level students within the Redbridge community and their engagement with the physical world.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Expert Teaching: Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective A-Level Physics lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students and incorporate practical investigations and real-world applications.

* Student Progress: Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.

* Curriculum Contribution: Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of the Key Stage 5 Physics curriculum and resources, ensuring alignment with examination board specifications and promoting innovative teaching practices.

* Assessment and Examinations: Preparing students for A-Level examinations and ensuring accurate and timely assessment practices, including the effective use of practical assessments.

* Extracurricular Involvement: Contributing to extracurricular activities that promote Physics and STEM within the school community (e.g., science clubs, competitions, visits to scientific institutions).

* Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the wider school to foster a culture of scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary learning.

* Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice, keep abreast of advancements in Physics and pedagogy, and contribute to the department's continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

* A degree in Physics or a closely related field.

* Significant and successful experience teaching Physics at Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

* A strong understanding of the A-Level Physics curriculum and assessment requirements, including practical endorsements.

* Excellent pedagogical skills and the ability to differentiate instruction, including the effective use of practical work and technology.

* A passion for Physics and the ability to inspire students and foster their curiosity about the natural world.

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

* A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of students and the promotion of STEM education within the Redbridge context.
