NXTGEN is working with a long-standing and growing accountancy practice in Bury St Edmunds to recruit a Payroll Senior to join their small but experienced and enthusiastic payroll team. As Payroll Senior, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, managing all aspects of their payroll processing while also having the chance to get involved in wider payroll projects alongside Senior staff, too. Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
Administer auto-enrolment pension schemes and ensure compliance with regulations
Handle payroll queries from clients and HMRC, providing timely and accurate responses
Process starters and leavers, including P45s and P60s
Support with year-end procedures and submissions
Keep up to date with payroll legislation and contribute to process improvements where possibleWhat the client is looking for:
Previous experience in end-to-end payroll, gained in either industry or a bureau/practice environment
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Confident working with payroll software
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Strong communication skills with this being a client-focused role
