Whilst our 850 strong team of veterinary professionals are out in the field ensuring animal welfare standards are met within the UK and that the meat is safe to enter the food chain, we have a team of 60 Central Support heroes back at our Leeds head office that cover the central support functions.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our Finance team on a part-time basis at our Head Office in Leeds. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of our payroll services. You will lead and support the payroll team, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and process monthly and 4-weekly payrolls, including timesheets, overtime, holiday, and sick pay.
Oversee payroll changes such as starters, leavers, and contractual amendments.
Provide expert guidance to the payroll team and resolve payroll-related queries.
Ensure timely and accurate pension submissions and data transfers to providers.
Deliver payroll reports and analysis to management as required.
Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and timely distribution of payslips.
Collaborate with Fleet and Finance teams to maintain accurate P46 car data.
Complete all year-end payroll returns, including P60s, P35s, and P11Ds.
Supervise and develop payroll team members.

Salary £17,500-£21,000pa based on 20 hours per week - depending on skills and experience (£35,000 to £42,000pa based on FTE of 40 hours per week)

This is a part-time role working 20 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Although primarily office based (LS15 8ZB), there will be some flexibility as to remote working.
