Operations Manager
Inspire Resourcing are currently recruiting an Operations Manager on behalf of our client in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading manufacturer, with exciting projects & a great team.
Duties:
* Leading the Production, Quality/Health/Safety/Environmental and Purchasing teams
* Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimising resource utilisation and minimising costs
* Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including raw materials, equipment, personnel, and capital, to ensure efficient production
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality
* Quality Control: Ensure products meet quality standards through implementation and monitoring of quality control procedures.
* Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment
* Personnel Management: Recruit, train, and supervise production personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles
* Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and optimisation
* Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to minimise costs and ensure timely availability of materials
* Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
* Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operations
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or a related field. Alternatively, sufficient experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
* Experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management
* Experience of implementing lean manufacturing principles and a culture of continuous improvement
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Familiarity with manufacturing software and systems (ERP / MRP)
Salary, Circa £55k DOE
