We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Chef to join a lovely nursery on an ad-hoc basis to provide essential cover during holidays and periods of sickness. You'll be responsible for preparing healthy and appealing meals for approximately 80 children, playing a vital role in their well-being and development.

What you'll be doing:

As our ad-hoc Nursery Chef, your responsibilities will include:

Planning and preparing well-balanced, nutritious, and tasty meals and snacks for around 80 children, catering to various dietary requirements and allergies.
Ensuring all meals are prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Managing kitchen stock levels, ordering ingredients as needed, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
Following nursery policies and procedures related to food preparation and safety.
Communicating effectively with nursery staff regarding meal plans and any dietary needs.What we're looking for:

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic chef with a genuine interest in providing healthy food for young children. You will also possess:

Proven experience in food preparation, ideally within a nursery, school, or similar setting.
A strong understanding of healthy eating guidelines for young children.
The ability to cater for various dietary requirements and allergies with confidence.
Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with relevant certifications (e.g., Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2).
Strong organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
A positive and flexible attitude towards ad-hoc work.
You must hold an in-date Enhanced DBS certificate.What's in it for you:
