Introduction:

We are delighted to be partnering with our specialist mortgage lender client based in East Anglia. They are recruiting for a new role in their team, a Mortgage Underwriter with experience of manual underwriting.�The main purpose of this Mortgage Underwriter role is to�process and underwrite new mortgage, agreements in principle and additional borrowing applications within agreed timescales and service standards, ensuring�compliance with both regulatory requirements and the lending policy.�

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing�a first-class service to customers by�producing high standards of work and ensuring that all service standards are achieved.


• Ensuring�all mortgage applications and additional borrowing applications are underwritten and processed in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.


• Applying the use of�credit risk management tools and techniques, appropriately and consistently to mortgage application processing.


• Developing excellent relationships with�internal and external customers; to include�Mortgage Intermediaries, Business Development Managers, Valuers and Mortgage Indemnity Insurers.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Customer service and relationship management skills.


• Experience of manual underwriting in a mortgage lending environment.


• Problem solving, negotiation and decision making.
