Modern Foreign Language Teacher

Are you a passionate linguist ready to inspire the next generation? Teach Now is delighted to be recruiting for a Modern Foreign Language Teacher for a thriving, diverse secondary school located in Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and forward-thinking MFL department where both Spanish and French are taught up to Key Stage 4 — and where your voice, creativity, and cultural insight will be celebrated.

The Role:

You’ll be teaching a combination of Spanish and French across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering dynamic and inclusive lessons that challenge, engage, and support a richly diverse student body. The school is flexible on timetabling (0.6 FTE), but ideally looking for someone available five days a week, with solid KS4 experience in both languages.

This isn’t your average teaching role — the school is proud of its inclusive ethos, and as such, they’re looking for a teacher who thrives in a multicultural, mainstream environment. Candidates coming from solely independent school settings may find the pace and diversity challenging, so experience in a comprehensive or similar setting is preferred.

Why this school?

A diverse student community that brings energy, culture, and curiosity into the classroom

Supportive leadership that values autonomy, innovation, and wellbeing
Strong MFL faculty with collaborative planning and shared resources

Flexible first-stage interview process – either a Teams chat or informal coffee, or straight to interview if you’re ready to go!

If you’re looking for a rewarding teaching post where no two days are the same, and where you can bring language and culture to life for students from all walks of life — this could be the perfect role for you.
