Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint a fantastic Mentor/Tutor for a young person in Portsmouth on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning (9:30am-12:30pm). The successful candidate will be required to collect the student from home and then drop her to school
We are looking for someone who is nurturing, caring, enthusiastic and has experience of working with young people.

As a Mentor/Tutor, you will:

Understand the needs, interests and goals of the young person that you are mentoring, to plan engaging tasks/ activities.
Assist the young person in your care to develop their confidence.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
Record student progress and report on this weekly.
Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
Record attendance.
Be organised, dependable and creative.About you:

Contract or position start date - ASAP

Full time/part-time - Part time- 9 hours per week
Hours - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (9:30am-12:30pm)

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
