Field Service Engineer (South Wales to West London)
Up to �38,000 basic salary plus competitive benefits package!

Who is the company?

An exciting new opportunity for a Field Service Engineer is now available, working for a manufacturer and global distributor of high risk, critical care medical devices.

What is the role?

As a Field Service Engineer you will be required to service and repair high risk medical equipment such as anaesthesia, ventilators, heart bypass devices and cardiac balloon pumps found within critical care units and theatres.

Key responsibilities are as follows;

  • To carry out routine servicing of equipment.
  • To carry out electrical, electronic and mechanical, fault finding and repair.
  • To carry out routine adjustments of equipment, where necessary.
  • To maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts within guidelines.
  • To maintain quality documentation records for submission to the customer via approved systems.
  • To cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, always demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner.

This role will be home based, travelling to customers predominantly based in West London across to South Wales, with occasional travel down to the South West of England, up to the Midlands and across to Cambridgeshire.

This role will be best suited to any of the following applicants;

  • Those with Biomedical engineering experience (Medical Engineers, Clinical Engineers, EBME Engineers, EME Engineers, Biomedical Engineers)
  • Military Engineers (REME, Avionics Engineers, Weapons Engineers, Aeronautical Engineers, Navy Engineers, Submarine Engineers, Radar Engineers, Sonar Engineers, Communications Engineers etc.)
  • Electrically or electronically-biased Engineers with a level 3 qualification (E.g. a BTEC level or HNC) or above in an electronic/electrical engineering or related discipline.

The Medical Service Engineer's working hours are Monday to Friday, 40hrs a week including travel (door to door).

What experience is needed to apply?

  • Electrical/Electronic service and repair experience
  • Experience in a field-based role or willingness to travel as part of a field based role
  • UK driving licence
  • Good customer service, team worker and communication skills
  • HNC or equivalent/above in an engineering or related discipline
  • Those with medical engineering experience or who have trained as an engineer in the HM Forces (RAF, Navy, Army, REME) are desirable. For these applicants a qualification is not essential.
