Mechanical Section Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer based in Sheffield to recruit a Mechanical Section Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.

Salary: up to £45,000

Days role Monday – Friday

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Section Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will ensure mechanical engineering management and standards are maintained. Develop and modernisation of the plant to ensure availability, reliability and performance targets are met.

Duties of the Mechanical Section Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will include:

Planning and co-ordinating mechanical engineering operations during plant shutdowns inclusive of major maintenance activities.
Contributing to annual and progressive plans for mechanical maintenance budget control.
The design, development, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to improve plant operation and reliability.
Lead fault investigations for repeatable delays and failures and define engineering solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert for all failures, use in-depth knowledge to solve difficult engineering failures.
Negotiating and managing key mechanical maintenance contracts.
Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
Development of plant to improve performance and reliability.
Providing the necessary documentation to cover all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Control inclusive of Permit Systems, Safe Working Procedures, Isolation/Immobilisation and Environmental Management Systems etc.
Providing a second-line maintenance service for plant breakdowns.

Experience of working in a heavy industry environment
Experience leading or supervising a team of maintenance engineers
Experience with CMMS systems
