Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer
The Company
A leading engineering company who specialise in the design and manufacture of industrial breaking systems and support products.
The Role
The Design Engineer will be required to work within an ISO 9001 environment and carry out all aspects of design for manufacture of the company's mechanical products.
The work will include the following:
Work to ISO 9001 standards as relating to product design project work and order processing
Provide calculations for performance and safety considerations including FEA and FMEA analysis.
Design for manufacture and assembly protocols. Produce 3D part models and assemblies and detailed 2D component and assembly drawings to current standards.
Using and exploiting the company’s 3D CAD systems (NX, Inventor and AutoCAD software) to their maximum capability.
Embrace company Value Analysis/ Value Engineering (VAVE) processes to generate the most cost-effective solutions and designs.
Produce detailed material specifications, product IOM manuals and other technical reports/documentation as required.
The Candidate
To apply for this role, you must
1. Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years related mechanical design experience within a 3D CAD environment.
3. Application experience of FEA software preferred.
4. Engineering experience related to rotating machinery preferred
5. Experience using NX, Inventor and AutoCAD software preffered
