My client is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer due to a growing customer base and increasing customisation of machines. Below are the requirements that they are ideally looking for.
Main purpose of the job
* Mechanical Design of new machines, retrofits, upgrades, issuing of mechanical BOMs and creation of machine manuals.
Key accountabilities:
* Creation of Mechanical designs in SolidWorks
* Creation of Sales layout drawings in either SolidWorks or AutoCAD
* Mechanical design of machinery in line with customer requirements and/or user specifications
* Creation of Mechanical bills of material (BOM)
* Creation of 2D detail drawings, assembly, part, fabrication etc.
* Creation of pneumatic schematics
* Liaising with the other design teams to ensure accurate and optimal mechanical designs
* Identify potential product improvements and support implementation
* Construction of machine manuals and technical documentation
* Effectively liaise with in-house personnel as required to resolve build and design issues
Role related skills, knowledge, experience and personal attributes:
Education
* A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering i.e., BTEC, HNC etc.
* Degree educated in mechanical engineering
Experience
* Mechanical engineering background
* 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design of machinery
* Experience of using a 3D mechanical design package. Ideally SolidWorks.
* Experience of mechanically building machinery
* Experience in commissioning production line
* Experience in line validation and completing validation documentation
* Experience of using AutoCAD design package for the purposes of customer layout drawings.
* Experience of pneumatic systems
Skills
* Ability to fault find machines and implement reliable solutions
* Ability to look for and recommend features for product development to improve the product range
