Location: Chipping Warden, Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week (site open between 6:00am – 7:00pm)
Contract Type: Permanent

Igloo is currently recruiting on behalf of a nationally recognised automotive organisation for experienced Master Technicians based in Chipping Warden. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable business offering stability, progression, and a high-performing workshop environment.

Position Overview

As a Master Technician, you will provide expert technical support to the workshop team, helping to resolve complex issues and ensuring that service and repair activities are carried out to the highest standards. This role requires both hands-on technical skills and leadership qualities to maintain workflow and drive quality across operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide advanced technical support and guidance to technicians

* Help resolve complex diagnostic and mechanical issues

* Monitor workshop efficiency and support workflow management

* Conduct detailed inspections to identify vehicle defects or failures

* Ensure accurate and compliant completion of all workshop documentation

* Use technical manuals, software, and diagnostic tools effectively

* Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment

* Support the team in meeting daily productivity and quality targets

* Report any equipment damage or shortages promptly

* Maintain flexibility to provide shift cover during periods of absence or holidays

* Carry out additional duties as required by workshop leadership

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

* City & Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 in Motor Vehicle Studies (or equivalent qualification)

* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a vehicle workshop environment

Desirable:

* Manufacturer-accredited training, including Electric and Hybrid vehicle systems

* Strong diagnostic capability and a high level of technical expertise

* Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard

* A proactive and self-motivated approach to problem solving
